Ed tells us about a new Symphony viral campaign:
Lotus Symphony: Crescendo is here to helpI like it - a good well-paced intro to the Symphony vision.
Here's a fantastic five minute flash highlighting Lotus Symphony. Wait -- no, it can't be .... we actually show the product! And address key concerns and objections decision-makers would have about using Lotus Symphony! And have fun in the process, in a way that actually connects!

"Crescendo" is the name of a project around Symphony that my team is leading.

I like the presentation, but it is not even remotely viral. This is a classic corporate "fun" video. It is easier to watch than a completely boring "facts" demo, but nobody would watch it for the sheer fun of it, and nobody is going to pass it around unless they are already complete fans and want to show that IBM "gets it".
My reason for posting is not to put down the effort, but rather to say that if it is oversold, it will disappoint people rather than excite them. Don't call it viral or think it is going to be watched for the sake of being watched, or you are going to create a negative "IBM doesn't get it" backlash.
Fair comment Ben. Well put.
